Can You Get Your Money's Worth When It's Free?

Flat tax proposals have come and went, and now come back again!  Tax software is everywhere, much of it free. The IRS, AARP, and many other agencies are giving away free tax preparation services.  And, the IRS is even encouraging you to just call them to file or when income is low enough - encouraging you to "STOP" filing when you don't need to!

Yet, the value of "free" is still about the same as it has always been. (Hint:  You usually get what you pay for...)   We see the results of "free" advice, do it yourself tax preparation, and those who mistakenly quit filing tax returns!

The results are about the same as always too.  Free advisors often make huge mistakes, and they can not be found later to correct them or reimburse the taxpayer for penalty and interest charges.  Also, an "X" in the wrong spot on a do-it-yourself tax return template could get you a bigger refund....and two or three years later - an IRS letter stating you owe a bunch of tax, interest and penalty money!

On top of this, the the new tax laws passed in June 2001compound the problem most taxpayers have.  Even though many taxpayers will benefit from the new law, few advisors can correctly apply the benefits to their client's situation.  And for many of our high income clients, the new law still ignores the huge alternative minimum (AMT) tax traps that are greatly lowering allowable "preference" deductions, thus greatly increasing taxable income!  Though a late temporary bill was signed in December, 2007 to help on the AMT problem, it most likely will not lesson the tax due from prior years -- just keep it from going higher on your 2007 tax return.

Lastly, most taxpayers do not understand the basics of taxation, tax preparation, etc.  Additionally, they do not understand how to lower their taxes on their own without falling into many of the tax "holes" that will cost more in the long run than the attempted do-it-yourself strategy originally saved.  So, going it alone in this modern world may not be the best plan anymore.  The good news is that we are right here, waiting for you to ask those hard questions.  If an answer is not readily available, at the very least, we will refer you to the proper firm that can answer the very hardest tax questions you may present.

Here's how we can help:

We have found after practicing in the taxation area for the past twenty years, that most tax preparers will be more than happy to tell you how much you owe, but few will tell you how to "owe less!"

So.......we have always tried to take the high road and invite prospective clients to let us worry about your tax strategies, preparation, etc.  We think you STILL need professional advice if you want to safely pay less income tax.  And we think that our fees should be a fraction of your actual or potential savings.  With hundreds of satisfied tax clients over the past fourteen years trusting us with this important financial service, we know they will ALWAYS need an advisor!

What it has come down to, especially after last year's "crazy" new estate tax law was passed, your taxes will most likely never become simple!  And if you don't use professional advisors, you will needlessly pay out thousands of dollars while alive that otherwise could go into your ROTH IRA and pay YOU thousands of tax free retirement dollars at retirement!

Why not contact us for details on how we can prepare your return, no matter where you live?

What about fees?  It's simple, we charge a flat $150 per hour for actual tax preparation while inputting data, plus a flat fee of $ 45 that covers all miscellaneous tasks such as copying, collating, binding, etc.

In addition, we offer a toll free number for out of state residents and do not charge for short phone conversations regarding your tax returns. Call us any time at: 1-800-782-2806.

Be sure to look for the "on-line" discount for service orders that are prepared while in our site!
